Ministries at Good Shepherd

Christian Education

Starting with Godly Play, we seek to set young hearts and minds afire with the mystery, wonder and love of God, respecting each child’s spiritual journey while strengthening them individually and in community so that they become Christ’s hands and heart in the world.

Evangelism

A mighty spirit of evangelism lives at Good Shepherd: it touches young and old, it reaches out to the marginalized ones in our local community and our larger global one. It is a spirit of giving, of celebrating, of nourishing and most of all, of accepting as our brothers and sisters all who enter these doors.

Outreach and Mission

The Good Shepherd Outreach and Mission Team’s goal is to offer opportunities as God’s children to serve both our local community and those farther afield. We share the Good News with our resources, time and loving relationships … we use words when necessary. And through our service we grow closer to God.

Pastoral Care

At Good Shepherd, we understand that pastoral care is the ministry of presence, the watchful attention to and concern for the wellbeing of others. It is from carrying Christ to a hurting world that we, clergy and laity alike, find faith, a faith that compels us to sustain, guide, heal and reconcile.

Stewardship

We at Good Shepherd believe we are called to make the highest and best use of our gifts and talents, our time and treasures, to serve God in ourselves, in our parish and in the world beyond. We know that whenever our actions, however small, demonstrate that someone cares, we have done God’s work.

Worship

Our worship helps us enter into God’s mystery and gives us the strength and vision to serve. We listen to God’s Word, respond in prayer and song, share Communion of bread and wine. We come with all that we are as humans struggling to follow God and Christ, and we are sent out renewed by the Holy Spirit. At Christ’s table, all are welcome. Come join us.

Hospitality

Ministry A network of individuals who help coordinate any kind of churchwide social events, the Hospitality Ministry does not replace church events hosted by other church ministries. Requests for Hospitality Ministry help come from the church office. A network of volunteers helps with these events, and everyone is encouraged to be a part of this ministry. There are sign-up sheets in the parish hall for church greeters, providing food, food servers, set-up, clean-up, decorations.
