Service Opportunities

Christian Education: Educational leaders for the youth

Altar Guild: Work with a team to prepare the altar area for Sunday worship, dress altar, clean metal, set candles, etc.

Worship Team:

Lector: Read lessons during worship services

Intercessor: At 8:30 service, vested, read lesson and lead prayers, chalice bearer

Acolyte: At 8:30 service, vested, assist clergy, crucifer

Server: At 11:00 service, vested, assist clergy

Crucifer: Vested, carry cross to lead procession

Ushers: Greet people at door, hand out service sheets, take up offering

Chalice Bearer: Vested, serve wine to the people at the altar and as needed

Choir/Music: Provides vocal music and special music for worship services. Practice each Sunday at 9:45 am (9:15 during summer hours) before the service.

FISH Food Pantry: Fourth Monday of every month, pack and deliver food for the needy. One team packs food and second team delivers food later that day.

Hospitality: Provide coffee and light refreshments after each service (sign-up sheet on table in hall).

Communications: Assist with Website and electronic communication.

(weekly e-news, monthly calendar, special e-mails, keeping Website current with activities, etc).

Vestry: Lay board to provides guidance for parish business issues. Members are nominated by parish members and voted to 3 - year terms.

Men’s Club: All interested men gather for community formation and service projects. Contact Bill for meeting times. Men frequently cook for parish meals, cook barbecue and sell it to interested parties; monies obtained are used for parish and community projects.

 

Outreach and Mission Team:

Organizers of the church’s outreach efforts, both close at hand and far afield.  The team meets at 5:30 pm on the third Wednesday of each month.  The activities and service opportunities happen continually through the year.

Stephen Ministry: A group of trained lay ministers who work one on one with individuals during times of loss or increased life stresses.

Martha’s Kitchen: Prepares meals to be delivered to those who are ill, lonely or suffering. Meets every other Monday at 10 am in the parish hall/kitchen (check calendar for schedule).
